about

This is officially the first single (with remixes) from "MY THIRD I", the soon-to-be released new album from CJ Burken.

The story of this song starts with artist/producer CJ Burken exercising his uncanny ability to dig out tracks from the label's forgotten vaults, which eventually led to a rare opportunity to work with acclaimed vocalist La Veda.

At the end this magical recording session, there was barely enough time for a sprint session with Lou Peoples, with one of his "mis-guided studio sessions". The two remixes that he delivered for this single (The Red Light District Remix & The Yesssss dub) should be all the audio that you and the rest of the world will, or should need.

Led by The UndahDub coming off his own album release on sister label, Decibel NYC, and right off the heels of La Veda's recently released "Sticky/Foreply" on the same label, "Gotta Get To You" serves as the vehicle that will re-introduce the world to CJ Burken, shadowed by his third eye and his fourth cousin Lou Peoples.
Available exclusively here at Bandcamp for a full month (jan 11 - feb 11, 2011) before official worldwide release, "Gotta Get To You" says it all: come y'all and sample this first of twelve (and definitely more) from CJ Burken.
